The best YouTube channels to practice English - and to also learn something new.

You're learning english, and things are going great. You try to immerse yourself in the culture, and this includes the websites you visit, the books you read, the movies you watch (this one is easy) and the YouTube channels you follow.

There's nothing better to practice and learn something when it's about subjects you like and is curious about. In here, we have a list of dozens of channels that will help you practice English (listening), increase your vocabulary and also teach you about science, technology, entertainment, movies, business, and other topics.

Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell: Videos explaining things with optimistic nihilism. They are a small team who want to make science look beautiful. Because it is beautiful. Currently they make one animation video per month.

Atlas Pro: Geography, geology, biology, and ecology. That's what they'll be talking about at Atlas Pro. Well that and maybe some history, chemistry, and whatever else is really necessary to explain something. Point is, they're trying to learn more about the Earth, it's systems, and maybe more.

SmarterEveryDay: He explores the world using science. That's pretty much all there is to it. Watch 2 videos. If you learn something AWESOME.

PBS Space Time: Space Time explores the outer reaches of space, the craziness of astrophysics, the possibilities of sci-fi, and anything else you can think of beyond Planet Earth with our astrophysicist host: Matthew O’Dowd.

Dating Beyond Borders: They focus on dating around the world in weekly videos. Want to know some funny insights on dating different cultures? Stay tuned!

Khan Academy: Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. They interactive practice problems, articles, and videos help students succeed in math, biology, chemistry, physics, history, economics, finance, grammar, and many other topics.

3Blue1Brown: 3blue1brown, by Grant Sanderson, is some combination of math and entertainment, depending on your disposition. The goal is for explanations to be driven by animations and for difficult problems to be made simple with changes in perspective.

The Pop Song Professor: The Pop Song Professor channel is about appreciating, creating, and celebrating deep lyrics. They teach English classes at a university and realized that I was studying things few "normal" people cared about (and few things they cared about too for that matter). So they started analyzing pop songs, and here they are.

 Big Think: Big Think is the leading source of expert-driven, actionable, educational content -- with thousands of videos, featuring experts ranging from Bill Clinton to Bill Nye, they help you get smarter, faster. They aim to help you explore the big ideas and core skills that define knowledge in the 21st century, so you can apply them to the questions and challenges in your own life.
